Thank you to all of you who attended FlashdanceSF for an incredible night of dancing and fun. I am truly honored that you all came out on a Sunday night and helped make FlashdanceSF 09 such a special event. It is truly a group effort. We couldn't do it without you and your amazing energy.

Clive: The best party I've ever been to in San Francisco.

Rick: Robbie, Awesome!!! That was the most eclectic, creative, mindblowing set of dance music I believe I have ever heard. I came expecting the same old remixed 80s classics, with your special signature style, and instead, you gave us an extremely sophisticated & world class mix of 80s, all played in a very progressive way, what more can I say, my standard Bravo Maestro just doesn't quite seem to cut it, because last night was truly amazing. Thank You!!!

Thomas: "Last night's Flashdance SF was absolutely phenomenal - unquestionably one of my 2 or 3 best nights in San Francisco ever! Thanks to everyone who played a part, but especially Rotten Robbie, who turned it OUT!"

Sam: What an uplifting experience Tom and I had! It is such a treat to see a crowd where everyone had big smiles on their faces. The crowd was really appreciating your set of music - which you did a flawless job with by the way. You must be very happy - but very worn out today and deserve a nice day off. LOL no, seriously, bears do not move out of your way, even when you say "excuse me" they like to stand there so they rub their scent on you. :-) I was almost brought to tears with "Fascinated" wow... Dave: "OMG a big 80's night should be held at every bear event. I really don't care for the current dance scene, but last night was the best dancing night I have had since.. well, the 80's. You totally are my hero!!"

Dicky: just danced to Like A Virgin in a full wedding dress in front of 400+ people. Life goal, CHECK!

Scott: Another amazing FlashdanceSF. I brought a camera but the battery dies after taking one photo. When djrottenrobbie played Like A Virgin, boyshapedbox came out in a wedding dress and rolled around onstage like Madonna did at the MTV Music Awards. It was just like watching her but sluttier. Who knew?

Jeb: home from Flashdance because of work tomorrow morning, but had an absolute blast!

But after awhile, I realized that I'd never heard many of the songs the DJ was playing. And the selection became very erratic; he'd play a high energy, popular song followed by a slower bad song that no one liked. This is a symptom of a larger problem with DJs in the Bay Area. Most of them suck. Many of them don't know how to organize the songs to get the most people on the dance floor and keep them there. So you get the Pet Shop Boys' "Where the Streets Have No Name" followed by who knows what the fuck it was lame-assed slow-paced boring song. (Just to name one glaring example.) Oh! and I got hit on by this cute guy. So not all bad!
